Display Board

So we had to make a display board. This display board contained ten or more items. That had to do with leadership. They all had a write up explaining why it's on your board, why it's important, and how did it affect or change you. We then had to defend our boards. We got to choose the color of our display board. I chose black, simple color. I then put my items on a blue construction paper. And put it on my board by glueing it. The items I put on my board meant a lot to me if I put it on there. If it didn't put it on there, it probably wasn't that important. We defended our board twice. We had to talk about the items on there, and if we had questions for ourselves. We had to answer them. We had to be confident with what we said, and it had to make sense. Other wise, it wouldn't be defending the board. It was worth lots of points. For each defense, it was worth 100 points.

Hilight of the display board was making it. It was really fun taking the time to make the board nice. I tried my best for the board to look nice, I also tried using all of the space on there. We had to anyways. I made sure I finished it on time. I didn't want to wait last minute. So once I was done printing out something, I didn't want to lose it or wait last minute, so once I got home with my materials, I immediately started gluing and pasting. I had a fun time doing that. Without the cutter I don't know how my display board would look like if I wrote it free handed.

Lowlight of the display board would have to be when people didn't finish. People waited last minute. They waited for the morning of the due date for them to finish gluing. People weren't doing their jobs just cause they were near the computers doing their write ups for their display board. One person didn't even finish their board. That person wasn't doing their job, they were walking around finishing up their board. But that person wasn't the only one that didn't finish. There was a couple more. I was the only one at the ID machine doing my job because i was done with my board.
Another lowlight was one of the items on my board. I sorta wanted to switch that item with something else. The spring bucket wasn't that important. I even had a hard time typing the write up because I knew it didn't make any sense of why I was putting it on my board. I should've put an AR book on there. That would've made sense. The first problem I was in. While I was defending my board, Mr. Ing made me realize that it should've been on there. It would've made perfect sense. More sense than the spring bucket.

I learned that you shouldn't wait last minute to finish things. I also learned that you should do what feels right to you. Not do something to easily get out. Don't cheat yourself to finishing without trying. It takes more risks to cheat your way out, or take the easy way out, than to do it the right way, or the way you feel is right. That is what I realized.

33rd Week of School

This week started off slow, then ended slowly. Period 4A worked the ID machine. On Monday, the periods were odd. 5, 1, 3. In period five, we watched the first half of wall-e. It was about life without producers. In period one, we cooked omlettes. We cracked eggs into ziplock bags, and we shook it. My group added slices of spam into it. Then we cooked it in boiling water. Then we took it out of the ziplock. It was an omlette. It wasn't that bad. In period three, we did a poster. On a real life situation, we had to come up with a solution. My group jotted down lots of ideas. On Tuesday, the periods were even. 6, 2, 4. In period six, we did work on tone. In period two, we had HSA. I didn't even get up to the twentieth question that time. I got up to only question eleven. In period four, I finished printing out my stuff for my display board. When I got home, I finished all of my display board. On Wednesday the periods were odd. In the morning, people were finishing their display boards, even though it was due on Wednesday. I was finished with mine, so I didn't have to worry about it. I stayed at the ID machine the whole time, while the other people in my group kept walking around to finish their board. We eventually had to put all of our boards in A102. So no one could work on it. In period one, we took notes, and we also finished writing down the data sheet. In period three, we shared our ideas. We also made a prototype of our solution. My group was a dome. I worked out all the details, and I was able to defend it whenever people from other groups asked questions. I shut them down easily. The teacher said to take ideas from the questions that they ask that you stumble apon. But I said "we can't, because I shut all of them down". Then my group members were laughing. In period five, we finished watching wall-e. I stayed after school for about six minutes to finish the movie. It was recognition night that night. I got principals list. On Thursday, the periods were even. 2, 4, 6. In period two, we finished our HSA. I got 340. I decreased:(. I had about 360 the last time. In period four, we showed our display boards to Mr. Ing to see what we needed to fix. I didn't need to fix anything. In period six, we did a critical read on the little red riding hood. On Friday, we had to work for career day as hosts. We had to stay in period three for a little while. I was a host for the State Farm insurance lady. I got three packs of candy. In period one, we cooked "Fancy Hotdogs". I brought the pasta and the hot dogs. We had to cook the noodles, fry the hotdogs and made the sauce. It was HORRIBLE!. I was being sarcastic by saying "woah we made the best food in the class". But we got pound cake with pudding and strawberries after. My group failed at making the food. It was a disaster.

Hilight of the week was working career day. My person was Mrs. Frelynn Kahalehili. She was really nice. I learned that she came from Pohakea, Ilima, and Campbell. She was also a cheerleader for Campbell because her dad was a coach there so she and her siblings had to participate in a sport. I got three packs of sour patch kids. I also got a pen. But I lost it. I actually needed that pen. Because there was one time that day where I needed to write down something, but I had no pen or pencil. Her job was pretty interesting, but I still wanna be a nurse or doctor when I grow up. She was really nice. She shared stories of what happened in her office before.

Lesson learned was you shouldn't wait last minute to do anything. Like the display boards, almost everyone was working on their display board the morning it was due. People weren't even done gluing things down. People were even asking me if they could use my pictures to print out. I didn't want to give the picture to them because I wanted them to realize that they should've gotten it done a long time ago. I didn't wait till the morning it was due to finish it. I finished it ahead of time so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

32nd Week of School

The way I spent my Monday was fun. The periods were odd. 1, 3, 5. In period one, we did a critical read. In period three, we took notes, wrote 10 questions about our notes, and wrote a summary. In period five, we took a quiz. I was absent last class because of orientation, so I didn't get the notes. But I winged it and got 6/6!. I couldn't believe it. I was suprised. I couldn't run at track because the day before, Sunday, I had my softball game, and I was the first one to have the new pitcher from the other team when I was up to bat. The pitchers pitches were fast and hard. She beamed me on my leg. It hurt like heck. I limped to first base after. Then I had a wrap on my leg because everytime I walk, I limped. So I didn't wanna make my leg even more sore so I skipped track. Afterschool I went to eat pho for my friends birthday. After we suprised her and sprayed her with lots of silly string spray. It was fun. Then after we went to longs and painted our nails. On Tuesday, the periods were even. In period two, we had a substitute. He let us listen to music with our earphones and eat in class. I had him as a sub for English too. We got to do the same thing. That's why I always carry earphones in my bag now. In period four, we worked on the website. When I finished my part, I went straight to finishing my spring bucket items. In period six, we had to finish our CFA. I decided to run at track that day. On Wednesday the periods were odd. In period three, we had to take more notes. We also watched videos. In period five, we had a sub. My friends were being disrespectful by getting out of their seats and eating. She didn't let us, but our other sub the day before did. It wasn't the same sub. In period one, we took notes. And we planned on who was bringing what. That night it was movie night at holomua. I seen John from track and I said "What are you doing here? This isn't your turf!" Then I started laughing. I also seen Asianna, Kevin, and Maliah. I had a headache again cause I seen a zebra again. I can tell I'm gonna get a headache if I see a zebra. It's not really a zebra, but it's a blob that has some sort of zebra print in it. I seen a zebra three times already. Once at practice, then that night. Then the next day. Thursday was the last day of school for the week. I got a headache again that morning. That was my third time seeing a zebra. I threw up twice. Once on the sink. Mackenzie had to clean it up. Funny coincidence, macky threw up in the same sink, and heighlee had to clean it up. Heighlee is my grandma, and Mackenzie is my mom. Next thing you know, I could be cleaning up my pretend kids throw up. ew, tmi. I was in the health room for the whole sixth period. That night, my headache went away, and I slept over my friends house.

Highlight of my week was on Tuesday when we were working morning music. Mackenzie and I were talking about ying-yang signs, and what it ment. I said it means "the bad in the good, the good in the bad". Alesia said "I thought ying-yang is the stick that you dip in the chocolate?" And Mackenzie and I were like "whaat?". And Alesia said "yah the one that you eat!" And I was like, "THATS YAN YAN ALESIA! LOLOL NOT YING-YANG!". We were cracking up after. I actually don't know what's going on in Alesia's head. She gets really confused and confuzzled a lot(x.

Lesson learned is to keep going even when you're in pain. Like how I had a headache. I was in pain, but I didn't want to go home because I didn't want to miss the track grade check. I stayed in school so I wouldn't miss the track meet. I eventually ended up watching the track practice instead of running because my head hurt every time I jumped. But I still stayed in school till the end. My headache bothered me a lot. I was in a lot of pain.

31st Week Of School

This week was like a mid pace. Some days went by quickly, and the others went by slowly. Period 4 worked music. Period 4A worked lunch music. We had afterschool practice for orientation on Monday. Because on Tuesday it was orientation. On Monday, we practiced our dress rehearsal. On Tuesday it was the big day. Holomua, Iriquois, and ewa beach came. I took a group from holomua on a tour. I wore my yellow tee the rest of the day. On Wednesday, the day seemed really slow. I had HSA testing in English. I did the first half. On Thursday, we had another orientation. This time Pohakea and Kaimiloa came. I took a class from Kaimiloa on a tour. In period one, we had a lab activity. It was like tasting with our senses. We were blindfolded. My job is chief cook. I had to cut onions. I was crying because I was cutting onions and I just started crying or of no where. Then i had to cut apples, and potatoes. Mrs. Kato let us chew gum during class. The onion tasted so bad that everyone almost puked into the trash can. In social studies, we had a substitute. We also had a CFA. I took the whole class period to finish. I had to Hilight when the bell rang, so I had to stay like a minute afterschool just to finish hilighting. Thursday evening we had the parent orientation. That one went well. But I liked the first orientation better. Afterschool that day, i was sneezing so much that my eyes and my nose was red. So I went home after study hall. On Friday, I read almost the whole day, in every period. I was rushing to get the book that I was reading done. But atleast I was interested in that book so it was easier to finish it. I took an AR test afterschool. In English we finished our HSA. I passed. I never did fail an HSA test for any subject. The day went by really slowly.

Hilight of my week was orientation. I had a great time helping the elementary students around. Giving them a heads up on what they need to know. It felt good that they were actually depending on us to show them around.  It was really fun showing the upcoming seventh graders around, and telling them what they need to know. The orientation practices really payed off. It benefited us. Everytime we made a mistake in the practices, we made sure we didn't do the same mistake again. We didn't have much problems as I thought we would. I learned from my mistakes. I can't believe howmuch people were asking questions. Especially on the second orientation. There were lots of questions. Coming from only two schools. It was a great experience. I can't wait for next year. Hopefully we can make it better.

Lesson learned was to keep trying until you get it right. Like how we practiced a lot for orientation. We gave up our lunches to practice for orientation. It all payed off in the end. Orientation was important. We kept trying during the practices to make everything perfect. Everything went smooth because we kept trying. We didn't go a day without getting everything right. We need to make it perfect so the elementary students will want to watch. If it's sloppy, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to pay attention. That's why we had to keep trying to make the whole orientation perfect. It wasn't the best, but we put our best effort into orientation.

Orientation Blog

Orientation was a blast! It was really fun showing the upcoming seventh graders around, and telling them what they need to know. The orientation practices really payed off. It benefited us. Everytime we made a mistake in the practices, we made sure we didn't do the same mistake again. We didn't have much problems as I thought we would. I learned from my mistakes, and corrected my errors. Eh, samething(x. We had about three afterschool practices. In the cafe it was really hot. We practiced our dances, speeches, and banner holding. But I'm pretty sure we already knew how to hold a banner. But what I didn't know was that we had to make the bottom touch the floor. At least we know now. Tuesday was the big day. The real thing. We had to wait a while for the students to arrive. Iroquois took a while. Ewabeach walked, Holomua took bus. Everything went smooth, except when Korey accidentally said "Vice president" instead of "Vice principal". And when Kevin, or was it Korey? said "trash treasurer". Little errors. I took a blue track class from Holomua on a tour. I made sure that I explained everything. But there was one time at a stop where I forgot to face them. But I was corrected. I brought them back to their seats afterwards. I was glad that that was done. Then we had our dances. I was showing oversized jeans. They made me wear the oversized jeans since I was the smallest and anyone in period 4 would have a pair of jeans that would be oversized on me. I sorta understood, but at the same time I didn't like it. When the orientation was over we had to wait for the schools to leave.

Round two. On Thursday, it was round two of orientation. That meant the second batch of students were coming. This time it was Kaimiloa and Pohakea. They walked to Ilima. So it didn't take too long for them to leave. And we didn't have to wait for any buses. Jahlyssa's taught me, Korey, and Roxi, a beat. It sounds cool when we do it all together. I took a group of Kaimiloa students in a tour. The boys were really curious. They asked me irrelavent questions like, "what grade are you in?", and "what's your Instagram?" I only answered the grade part. I made sure I got them back to their seats. I was the first group back. They had lots of questions about dress code. It took about 10 minutes to answer all of them. The thing was, I forgot my oversized jeans in A101! So I had to borrow Kevin's jeans since he was wearing board shorts for the dance. His pants were really big on me. At least it was a good example. Like how they said, "anyone's jeans would be oversized for Cheana". They were right. His pants were really big. It kept falling though. But I managed to keep going.

Round three. Thursday evening, we had the parent orientation. Mr. Ing said that the parent orientation was the best out of all. But I thought the first one was the best. That time, I didn't forget my oversized jeans, but they wanted me to wear the Kevin's ones again. I didn't want to. This time we didn't go on the tour. There was lots of backstage shenanigans. Real funny ones too. Atleast we didn't make a distraction... I hope we didnt.

The highlight of orientation was the first round. We went pretty well actually. Everthing went perfect in my point of view. The dance went well, the speaking went well, and most of all, the students cheered loud when they heard that most of the officers were from Holomua. Well Holomua cheered loud. I kinda knew that they were gonna cheer loud because Holomua is a really noisy school. We would always get our lunch recess taken away for being too noisy. So I sorta expected it. I'm glad that the former Holomua students got to where they are now. That was the highlight of orientation.

The lowlight of orientation would have to be when lei Ilima scheduled something last minute for the girls to take surveys, and when they had the band festival at ewa makai the time we had the nightime parent orientation. Orientation was already scheduled. That really slowed us down in some way. The lei Ilima people had girls take surveys while they were on the tour. Some parents must've had a busy schedule the night of the parent orientation. What if their kid was in band, and their other kid was an upcoming seventh grader who missed the first orientation?. Tough decision.

30th Week of School

Yaaaay! Thirty weeks of school. Why do I sound happy about it? Cause three is my favorite number! LOL. Anyways, on Monday, period 4 worked afterschool sales. We also had afterschool orientation practice. The periods were odd. In period three, we started working on our final drafts for our debate. In period five, we had a mini test. I got 28 out of 28. It was actually hard. Although she said she made it simple. We had orientation practice in advisory. In period one, we came up with our group names. My group is group six, we have six people in our group. So our group name is "Sweet Six" the names had to be kitchen/food related. We were gonna be "Sushi Six" but naah. We're the only group with six people. It took us a while to decide on the name. On Tuesday, the periods were even. 4, 6, 2. It was also April fools. So I tried not to belive anything. In period four We worked on the choreo and changed minor things. In period six, we took notes on tone. We had orientation practice in advisory. In period two, someone put a fake cockroach on our teachers laptop. She didn't even see it! When she seen it all she did was say "oh cute". Then I'm like "whaaaat?!". On Wednesday, periods were odd. 5, 1, 3. In period five, we worked on alleles. Like how would white and brown mice survive in a certain habitat. Eaten by a predator, catch a disease, contrast with the floor, or survive. In period one, we worked on the group names again. Like our own names. We had orientation practice in advisory. In period three, we talked about the rubric. Afterschool, Jahlyssa and I walked to Starbucks. Then we stopped by chelseys house. We ended up staying there for a while. We played volley ball, threw tennis balls, and had a mini photoshoot. On Thursday, periods were even. 6, 2, 4. In the morning during homeroom, we were supposed to go down to the cafe to practice orientation, we didn't start. That created a problem. In period six, we worked on tones again. In period two, we had a quiz which was really easy!. I learned those things In like third grade. In period four, we went on a tour to see the places we have to go to for orientation. I didn't know that they had an Imu pit near R building. And they also still have the rocks to cook things. And I also didn't know that One of the buildings at Ilima used to be some sort of museum. Really interesting. On Friday the periods were odd. 1, 3, 5. In period one, We walked to where the class was supposed to be, but Mrs. Kato wasn't even there. So a security guard said to go to Mr. Celebres class. We spent the period in his class. My friend had gum, I asked for a piece, then Mr. Célèbre seen, and asked for one too! It was actually funny. Then we had a debate about if social media is good or not. He let us chew gum in class. In period three we had a rehearsal for our debate. I had two debates in one day. In period five, we had to copy down vocab words. It took long because I took my time to fold and crease the paper. I have to make everything perfect. Afterschool we had orientation practice. There was also Jamba Juice sales going on. I wanted jamba, but I had to work afterschool sales, then after, the line got really long so I was like "never mind". It was sorta hard changing back stage. I had shoes on and those shoes are the type of shoes that you have to untie and tie to put on. So it was complicating. That night jah and I slept over chelseys house. We watched a video of chelseys boyfriend when he was eight or five. It was hillarious.

Hilight of the week was sleeping over chelseys house. We shared confessions and our deepest secrets. I know that I can trust Jahlyssa and Chelsey. We also drew things. We stayed up watching the videos of chelseys boyfriend from before. I was cracking up so hard I was wheezing and my laugh sounded like I was out of breath. I only laugh like that when something is really funny. We ate subways and KFC when we got to Chelsey house. I had popcorn chicken and potatoe wedges. We also talked about what bothered us.

Lesson learned was that when you get told to do something by a teacher or someone important, you should do it. If you don't, something could happen. Like how Mr. Ing said to go down to the cafeteria and practice, the people who were supposed to start, didn't start. We all got in big trouble for it. But we still practiced orientation during advisory and afterschool. We were told something, we didn't do it, we were asked a question, we didn't answer it. Careless mistakes. I also asked the person who was supposed to start "shouldn't you start?". I remembered asking her that.
