31st Week Of School

This week was like a mid pace. Some days went by quickly, and the others went by slowly. Period 4 worked music. Period 4A worked lunch music. We had afterschool practice for orientation on Monday. Because on Tuesday it was orientation. On Monday, we practiced our dress rehearsal. On Tuesday it was the big day. Holomua, Iriquois, and ewa beach came. I took a group from holomua on a tour. I wore my yellow tee the rest of the day. On Wednesday, the day seemed really slow. I had HSA testing in English. I did the first half. On Thursday, we had another orientation. This time Pohakea and Kaimiloa came. I took a class from Kaimiloa on a tour. In period one, we had a lab activity. It was like tasting with our senses. We were blindfolded. My job is chief cook. I had to cut onions. I was crying because I was cutting onions and I just started crying or of no where. Then i had to cut apples, and potatoes. Mrs. Kato let us chew gum during class. The onion tasted so bad that everyone almost puked into the trash can. In social studies, we had a substitute. We also had a CFA. I took the whole class period to finish. I had to Hilight when the bell rang, so I had to stay like a minute afterschool just to finish hilighting. Thursday evening we had the parent orientation. That one went well. But I liked the first orientation better. Afterschool that day, i was sneezing so much that my eyes and my nose was red. So I went home after study hall. On Friday, I read almost the whole day, in every period. I was rushing to get the book that I was reading done. But atleast I was interested in that book so it was easier to finish it. I took an AR test afterschool. In English we finished our HSA. I passed. I never did fail an HSA test for any subject. The day went by really slowly.

Hilight of my week was orientation. I had a great time helping the elementary students around. Giving them a heads up on what they need to know. It felt good that they were actually depending on us to show them around.  It was really fun showing the upcoming seventh graders around, and telling them what they need to know. The orientation practices really payed off. It benefited us. Everytime we made a mistake in the practices, we made sure we didn't do the same mistake again. We didn't have much problems as I thought we would. I learned from my mistakes. I can't believe howmuch people were asking questions. Especially on the second orientation. There were lots of questions. Coming from only two schools. It was a great experience. I can't wait for next year. Hopefully we can make it better.

Lesson learned was to keep trying until you get it right. Like how we practiced a lot for orientation. We gave up our lunches to practice for orientation. It all payed off in the end. Orientation was important. We kept trying during the practices to make everything perfect. Everything went smooth because we kept trying. We didn't go a day without getting everything right. We need to make it perfect so the elementary students will want to watch. If it's sloppy, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to pay attention. That's why we had to keep trying to make the whole orientation perfect. It wasn't the best, but we put our best effort into orientation.
