End of the Year Blog:(((

AW, I'm gonna miss all of the eighth graders next year and all the seventh graders that aren't returning to the program. It's gonna be hard not to cry while I type this. *tear*.  I loved working with these people. I'm very thankful that I got chosen to be in leadership. I don't know what I would be doing if I didn't get to be in this program. Thanks Mr. Ing for accepting me and all these other great people. I've been always saying "This was the best variety of people in a class before". Because it's true. In my others classes, I usually don't like half the class. But in this class, leadership as a whole, I love every single one of you. Seeing all the eighth graders go to HighSchool, leaving us behind, the sixth graders jumping into the program, also some seventh graders, makes me sad. I just wish I could be with all the people that was in this class forever. I used to be all happy and wanting summer to come, but this year, I actually didn't want summer to come. When summer comes, people leave and people come. The leaving part is the sad part. I just hope everyone doesn't drift away. Omg, I'm like crying while typing this:(( I just can't explain how much I really liked this class and how much I don't want anyone to leave.

Some highlights of the year was getting to work with all these other intelligent people. People that I've created a special bond with. People that I'm actually going to miss. I never did miss anyone from school before, but I got mad love for this class. The eighth graders for teaching us how to do this, how to do that, etc. The retreat especially!. I miss when we all caught crabs, when we woke up early and seen the whales towards the sunrise. When we thought the house was haunted so we couldn't sleep. When we made lots of noise because of a card game. Most of all, when we shared laughs, and special bonds. I just can't forget this class easily. This was just a perfect combination of people. When I looked at the first AR chart and the second, I realized how fast we became close. The names on the first chart were mostly just our normal names. The names on the second chart, were all nicknames. Really weird ones that I don't think anyone out of leadership would tell who is who. Creating problems and envolvivg eachother. But most of all, how how dug ourselves out and got out together. These people are the reasons why I love school. They make it fun in their own way. We just spend too much time together that it's gonna be hard to not spend time with eachother when we have new people in our classes. I wish I could flunk all of the eighth graders in leadership just so they can spend one more year with us seventh graders. But I can't, I would if I could. But they need to move on in life. I don't care if you tell me, "you're gonna see them next year in HighSchool anyways". You just don't get it, we are only going to be able to SEE them. Not spend time with them. They have their own things to worry about. Leadership was what held us all together. Like a rubber band. It's the end of the year so Mr. Ing cut the rubber band for this class, and he's bringing more people into this new rubber band. I don't think this rubber band will hold us closer than the rubber band that held us this school year. This class is very unique and has very unique people. Therefore, we had a very unique rubber band.

I would go on and on explaining my journey with these people, but I don't have forever(: We just made so much memories together that it's gonna be so hard to let go and move on. *tear*. Gaaah, I can't type this bc this is sad (cries) (x. Why did this year have to end so quickly?!. Well like Mr. Ing said, "Being in this program makes time fly quickly, rather than being a normal student, it feels like the year is taking forever to pass". I didn't want this school year to end. I'm truly going to miss all of the eighth graders. Don't forget me! -Cheana

4th Quarter Blog

First Quarter, done. Second quarter, done. Third quarter, done. Fourth quarter, done!. All four quarters have come to an end. This quarter I had lots of things thrown at me. With year book distribution, sixth grade orientation, display boards, new recognition night, track meets, and more. This was the quarter that we had to work harder in. The year is coming to an end. We have to cherish the rest of the time we have left with the current class. With the four of us returning, things are most likely going to change.

This quarter we worked big events, did new things, and did our final project. Orientation, the sixth graders came. We worked really hard to prepare ourselves for when the sixth graders were going to come. We gave up most of our free time for about a whole month. By the time we didn't have to stay in anymore to practice for orientation, I felt anti-social(x. I never wanted to go outside. I was used to staying inside of A101. New recognition night, we planned a new event. This was our first time hosting this event. During this recognition night, people were basically trapped inside of the cafe until the end. We never got our awards until the end. But we got called up on stage. the reason we didn't get our awards when we got recognized is because people with a lastname that is at the end of the list wouldn't get the same amount of attention when the first person on the list got called up. That was a good idea. Each team had a student of the year for each subject and a student of the year for the whole team. Also a most improved student. Graduation ceremony, we took time to plan this event too. My job was sound. So I was behind the stage the whole time. My job was to play the songs, and control the sound of the microphone and speakers. I was sorta scared that i would've messed up, but I didn't. We had our final project which was the display boards. If we do that project again next year, I will know what to do. Our display boards had ten items with write ups. It was all things that had to do with leadership.

When Mr. Ing said we have to be at work before 7:15, or else we wouldn't be able to work again and we would just exist. It really hit me in the head. So every morning when I needed to be in school early, I would get ready at 6:00 and leave at about 6:50. I was so terrified that I might me late at some point and I wouldn't be able to come to work again, but I never came late. Alesia came late lots of times but she never got in trouble.

I learned even more new things this last quarter. Built relationships, broke relationships, fixed relationships and more. School was still the same but we had way more final tests. I hope I did great on them. This was basically my fourth quarter.

Close to the end, yaas

OMG, it's the last full week of the school year. Well, on Monday, the periods were odd. 1, 3, 5. We were supposed to have 8th Grade Office elections during lunch but they didn't announce it on TV so they moved it to Thursday. In period one, we turned in our pizza drawings. My drawing almost won, but when she zoomed out, you could see all the scribbles in the background. I thought the whole thing had to be colored so I scribbled in the background. I would've won if there wasn't scribbles(x. In period three, we rehearsed our presentations. For our How to, project. In period five, we took notes on biomes. I never knew there was a biome called deciduous forest & oh my, I forgot what the other biome was called. But yeah I learned something new. On Tuesday, I was feeling tired & I had small kine headache. I was like napping in each class. In period two, all we did was review so I took a 20 minute nap. In period four, we counted pins & stuff. I then took a short nap after. In period six, I took an hour nap. All we did was watch Horton Hears a Who. I watched a little bit of the beginning, then I went to slep. I was sleeping on my jacket. When I woke up, my hair was messy, and they said my eyes was red. That night, we had recognition night. After school, we had the civic club meeting. After the meeting I went home and went to sleep. I set an alarm though. So I knew when to get up and get ready for recognition night. But I woke up a little after my alarm went off. And I had to wait for my dad to shower. So I came a little late after 5:30. I was like leaning on everyone because I was tired. I went up on stage for leadership, track, bowling, and I won student of the year for science. I didn't expect it. The teacher never told me about it. On wednesday, I stayed home from school because I was sick-er. I kept coughing and I had a headache. I tried swallowing the tablets for my headache but I couldn't swallow it. I'm not used to tablets(x. I spit out two. Then my mom just gave me the liquid one. I'm used to that one that's why. Then I slept for like the whole day. I tried sleeping that night, but I ended up not sleeping at all. I was awake since I woke up from my nap at like 1:00 pm. On Thursday, the periods were even. I was awake for the whole day. The periods were 4, 6, 2. In period four, we changed marquee. I bet if you check my other blogs to the time period four was first, most of them would say we did marquee. We do marquee most of the time. Geez. We then worked on the slideshow. I put the music onto the laptop. In period six, we took two tests. The achieve test & the star lexile test. I couldn't concentrate because mianna kept making me laugh. We got in trouble couple of times for laughing too much. And we were taking the test in the library. Bad idea of putting us next to eachother on the same table. We then had elections during lunch. In period two, we were supposed to take our comprehensive final, but Chelsey and I went to watch the movie in the cafe. Not really watch though(x. We were just talking story & eating popcorn with Jahlyssa & Brandalyn. I couldng even see the screen. We had grad practice afterschool. On Friday, during homeroom they announced the winners for 8th Grade Office. For SBG president, we have Jahlyssa, and for Class president, we have, me!. I was suprised that me and jah won. I was happy. In period five that day, we had our quarter test. I got 34/35. I mistakend the biome I forgot about with deciduous forest. I was close. In period one, I skipped it to prepare for yearbook distribution. We brought out tables, and the boxes that had the yearbooks. When we were done, we waited for the bell to ring. We killed time by talking story, and playing cards. Aleesha, Laila and I were playing BS. Laila cheat! Jk. Giving out yearbooks was kinda hard because a lot of people went into the cafe to watch the dance. In period three, I finally got to share my project with dyllan. The were teasing me because of my voice(x. I lost part of my voice that day. It was hard to present. I hope my teacher didn't deduct points. I kept coughing the day before, that's how I lost my voice. We had grad practice afterschool.

The Hilight of my week was Friday. It was Friday because I won for president, I lost part of my voice, and I got food. I was kinda happy that I lost part of my voice because I was trying to lose it before but it didn't work at all. But when I finally lost it, I kinda hated it. It was hard to talks to people. My voice kept cracking. Oh and also because we got our yearbooks. There were two errors in the yearbook. One where Jaynas lastname says "Ancheta" instead of "Echada". And on a page, it says "Auything" instead of "Anything". I got food. There was leftovers from the 8-3 team celebration.
Lowlight of the week was when we weren't productive at one point. We were working on something else instead of working on what was important.

Lesson learned, do Everthing in the order that it was listed in. Like how I do my crossword puzzles. Whenever I look for words, I always go down the list before I move on. I should've done that when we weren't productive. I like to do things in the order that it's supposed to be done in. "Never move on until you finish what's need to be finished" my motto. I don't know if it's a real quote, or I just made it up right now(x. Anyways toodles(: -Cheana

After period three on Friday 👊

Crazy Week, not really

On Monday, the periods were even. 2, 4, 6. Period 4 worked afterschool sales and the recess hallway jobs. The hallway jobs take away a lot of our free time. It kills me to just stand there. In period two, we took notes. We also did a review for our quarter final which was on Friday. Then the fire alarm went off when the teacher was going over the answers. I actually just sat there to finish my answer, then I got up. We went down infront of the basketball courts for evacuation. I had to hold up the sign for our classroom since I'm in the front of the line. In period four, we didn't do anything special. Except I ate, well I think I did because I always eat #eatbutnogainweight. In period six, we worked on oral communication. we got to choose our groups and what we wanted to do. Communicate to inform, communicate to persuade, or communicate to entertain. My group chose persuade. And we made a design for a house that we have to persuade Mr. Mitsuda to buy. It's a 500,000 dollar house. Don't worry, it costs a lot because it has a lot of detail & features. We also went to go visit my newborn baby cousin at kapiolani. Her name is Carleigh. Pronounced (Car-Lee). I'm not the only one with a hard to find name. On Tuesday, the periods were odd. In period three, we worked on another project that were doing. We have to make a how-to presentation. Dyllan and I are doing a how-to on organizing your binder. Might seem boring, but we can do it anyways. In period five, I peer reviewed my own book. I gave myself a 40/40 but Mrs. Fujimoto gave me 2 extra points, I don't know why, so my total was 42/40. I finished my coloring. Well I was done coloring, but I colored so lightly & ugly that it bothered me so much that I had to re color by making the color darker. In period one we finished making our pizza! It was hard getting the dough out of the ziploc. We put a lot of flour on the rolling pin and on the counter to roll the dough out. It was the struggle to roll out the dough in a perfect circle. I went backwards and I put the corn meal in the measuring cup before the flour. So we ended up giving our cornmeal to another group. Then we did the flour. We sprayed the pan, sprinkled the corn meal, put the dough on the pan, and put the sauce. We then cooked the mushrooms. We put lots of cheese on it. We put two different kinds of cheese. Mozzarella & Parmesan. We overflowed the pizza with cheese. Then we put the bacon bits on the pizza. Then we put the mushrooms. But there was a suprise. One of my group members didn't pre heat the oven. We had to wait 20 minutes for the pizza to cook. The group next to us had hard pizza. The pizza was like a cracker. And their cheese made a huge bubble & it exploded. We finished twelve minutes before the bell rang. Our pizza was really good!. When I left early for afterschool sales, Mackenzie tried my pizza, Laila, and i think Korey tried my pizza as well. Laila even wanted to come with me to go see if we had anymore pizza. On Wednesday the periods were even. 4, 6, 2. In period four, we did the marquee I think. In period six, we finished up our project. In period two, we studied with eachother for our test. I was partnered with Brandalyn. We were eating M&M's, and I wasn't even studying I was coloring my science project. Since we have no sharpener in Mrs. Gouveias, my colored pencils got dull. But she let me use her sharpener on her desk. No one else is allowed to use that sharpener. So I felt special(x. She actually knew I was working on my science project instead of studying. She didn't care. On Thursday. The periods were odd. 5, 1, 3. In period five we shared our books. I was the only one who did perfect & got two extra points. When Mrs. Fujimoto was talking about our scores, she said no one got perfect scores except one person. And I could hear people whispering my name saying "it's Cheana". So I checked webgrader afterschool, and I did get 42/40. In period one, we worked on another project. We have to make a pizza advertisement. It was hard making a perfect circle. In period three, we worked on our project again. On Friday the periods were odd. 6, 2, 4. In period six, we did a practice presentation. We had to be quiet because in Mrs. Gouveias class next door, they were taking their finals. People had really weird presentations. In period two we took our quarter final. It wasn't that long. It's smart how Mrs. Gouveia gives everyone the same quiz but with different questions. It keeps people from cheating. My questions were kinda hard. It took a while for me to finish. I was kinda hoping the fire alarm would ring. But it didn't, sigh. In period four, we sorta cleaned A102. We put the display boards all in one place, and we put the canned foods on the floor. I then ate again(x. We ran to get Jamba Juice while class was still going on. Since we had afterschool sales, if we went after we finished working, the line would be long, and they would've ran out.

The highlight of my week was making the pizza in Mrs. Kato. I honestly doubted my groups pizza because we didn't do stuff correctly but our pizza acutually turned out to be one out of the two best pizzas in that class period. I never expected the pizza to be that good. It's from scratch too. We know how the pizza was made. What I didn't know was that pizza dough, has honey in it. I never did cook pizza from scratch before. And surprisingly, they don't actually through the dough up to spread it & make it a circle. They roll it until it's perfect. That's hard to do.
Lowlight of the week was when people kept coming late to work. Oh and when I thought I had detention for coming to school late. Why do you get detention for coming late though?. It doesn't make sense.

Lesson learned. Don't doubt yourself. You never know what the outcome might be. Just like how I thought our pizza was a failure. But it turned out to be a success. Also, don't blame anyone for what they didn't do. Like how someone did in my group for Mrs. Kato. They blamed the person that was supposed to pre heat the oven. But he wasn't a chef, so why did he have to pre heat it.

Thirteen Days Left

Okay so I realized that my blog titles are really boring lol. So I decided to be different and come up with a different title. Thirteen days left. Of school. This school year had went by quickly. This week period four worked afterschool sales. On Monday, the periods were odd. 3, 5, 1. In period three, we finished our projects. My group had nothing to do because we were finished with it already. So we were just talking story and making eachother laugh. In period five, we worked on our books. Were making a Disney book as if we were hired to make one. It had to be about either water pollution, land pollution, or air pollution. I chose water pollution. My story is about two sea turtles that has their habitat destroyed. We worked on the scripts. On Tuesday the periods were even. 4, 6, 2. We had period four first. In period four, we did marquee. But Alesia, macky, and Kevin were the only ones who went to change it. I had to take pictures of four display boards, and take pictures of all the orientation banners. I also had to take pictures of the murals that they're painting infront of the library, and infront of the avid room. Sorry for swearing(x. I got Alesia and Kevin's help with the banners. When they came back. In period six, we watched ice age 2. I wasn't really watching because me, sio, Maevelyn, and Alicia were trying to pop the pig. We put it in the container and we closed it, then we stuck a paper clip through and popped the pig inside of the container. And sio swallowed an eraser and made it come back out. It was gross. In period two, all we did was review. We always review now. I don't need to review because I got all my work right. We only review for the questions we get wrong. On wednesday, the periods were odd. 5, 1, 3. In period five, we worked on the books again. This time, it was the drawings. In period one, we worked on a flow map for our labs. We had a discussion about Mr. Ings honesty during both advisories. There was a bird flying around in the room at the same time. It kept chirping everytime it flew. It was irritating. We talked about how some one said they don't like Mr. Ing's honesty. I found it dumb. Being honest is the right thing to do. Lying would make you confused. In period three. We presented our work. My group went last. I made sure none of them stuttered and they gave eye contact. So I'm pretty sure they all got 20's. Everyone liked our drawing and our prototype. On Thursday, the periods were even. 6, 2, 4. In period six, we had a sub. We worked on a poem again. When the sub talked it's like she was having a conversation with the person next to her. Her volume was soft. When she talked no one payed attention because we didn't know she was even talking to us. In period two, we reviewed again. I was getting tired. Because again, I had nothing to review. In period four, we ate the Spanish rolls(x. We ate a lot each. When we had more left, I said "Come on Kevin! Eat the rest!". Then Alesia and macky were laughing. Period four was fun. On Friday, the periods were odd. 1, 3, 5. In period one, we made the dough and the sauce for our pizza. It's gonna take two days to make the pizza because we won't have enough time. When I was making the dough, it was really sticky and it was sticking to my hands. That's when I knew we did something wrong. It was probably because I was stabbing the dough with the spoon when I was mixing it lol. Mrs. Kato said to be nice to the dough and the dough will be nice to you on Tuesday. She was waking pass my group right when I stabbed the dough. We added a lot of flour because it kept sticking. It turned a little dry. In period three, we voted. We voted for most meaningful, most creative, and most realistic. My group almost got most creative, but the group who used wall-e's beat us. Ugh, they copied the movie Wall-E so I don't see how it's creative. My group had a dome. Which is more creative than wall-e's. In period five we worked on coloring our pictures. We listened to the radio while we were coloring then the song "Rude" played and Mrs. Fujimoto turned  off the radio because we started singing to it. On Saturday, we went to watch the HighSchool track meet. It was really hot. I thought that I was gonna die.

The Hilight of my week was when we went to the track meet. We were wondering what was under the bleachers because we seen people go down and under and disappear. It was really hot. The weather was bi polar. It was raining. Then it was sunny. Then it was raining while the sun was out, like whaa. I ate two bowls of saimin. I also ate some of Korey's bento. I drank one water bottle, two gatorades, and one boba drink. I wasn't even full. After the track meet, we went down to the track field, and we were just running around. Petriese and I were just playing catch with my Gatorade, then Korey came along, then we all ended up playing football. It was fun. And funny. I kept pushing the boys just so I could grab the bottle. I didn't care if they fell or not. They're boys. They need to suck it up Lol.
Lowlight of the week was when we had to work the recess jobs. After school sales had to work it. And we just started working the recess jobs. On Wednesday, I didn't get to eat. We were supposed to eat food during recess, but we were working the recess jobs. So I didn't get to make my food. We had to stay in dur if lunch and advisory. So I had no time to eat.

Lesson learned was you should make sure it's right before you spread rumors. We all thought something different than what was true. We thought something way different than what was the real reason why. So don't do that. Rumors spread easily. And the person that the rumor is about gets hurt. So make sure you know the truth first.

Happy hour was the whole week. I went to Starbucks a lot this week.$

34th Week of School

This week went by pretty quickly. On Monday, the periods were even. Period 4A worked TV. I went on. The announcements were really short. In period 4, we defended our display boards. I think I did a pretty good job. In period six, we worked on our poems. We had to turn a story into a poem. It had to be about school. In period two, we had a quiz. We took the quiz on this tablet/laptop thingy from the Kapilina program. It was really cool!. On Tuesday, the periods were odd. In period five, we worked on types of pollution. My group chose water pollution. We then had to come up with an idea of a Disney movie, pretending we were asked to make one. We watched wall-e. So we had to make our one type of movie. Life without producers. In period one, we had a sub. All we did was copy down definitions. It was really boring. In period three, I worked on  my sketch for my drawing. It turned out really nice. On Wednesday, the periods were even. In period six, we had to do some sort of critical read with a poem. We had to do text features and write a summary about the poem "The Highwayman". In period two, we had to make up work. But I had no work to make up. Because I was all caught up. So I did work for other classes. In period four, we defended our boards again. It was pretty good the second time. It was my moms birthday that day. So for dinner, we went to go eat out at Shokudo. Ive been wanting to try their honey toast cake, and I did!. It was actually really sweet. So sweet that I didnt finish it all. I love their plantation iced tea. It's really good. On Thursday, we had class day. We went to ice palace. I had a great time. We then had to go back to our period five at the end of the day. I didn't want to because I was really tired and all I wanted to do was sleep sleep sleep. On Friday, the periods were even. In period two, we did more make up work, and again I didn't have anything missing. So I worked on work for other classes. In period four, we found songs for the graduation slide show. In period six, we worked in groups. Working on a appear that had to do with the two poems we read and did a critical read on. That was basically all I did that week.

Hilight of my week was going to ice palace for class day. It was really fun! Want to go back again. I had so much fun falling on  my butt. Just kidding. I only fell three times. Mostly because of other people. The first time I fell was cause Khrizz pulled me down. The second time was because I tried skating backwards. And the third time was because I tried scaring my friend by pushing him. But he didn't move, and I fell. I also won in four corners. I did my victory dance & people were laughing. I won some sort of light earring. I want to go back with all the seventh graders again. It's better to go with your school, kinda. Because you don't have to worry about embarrassing yourself infront of strangers. I was one of about ten seventh graders that knew how to skate, and skate fast. I helped about five people skate. Btw, Khrizz, Korey, & Laila, if you're reading this, how many chainz?.
Lowlight of my week was when Alesia kept coming in late. She came in late about three times this week. And so we didn't have a third hand when Mackenzie and I went on TV. She barely went on. I made sure I came in early before 7:15 because I didn't want to take any chances of coming in late, and not being able to work again. I don't want to be in another problem.

Lesson learned was, not to come to work late. It like a life lesson too. If you're late to your real job, you could get fired. It annoys Mr. Ing when we come to work late. So that's why I always leave my house at either 6:50-7:00. In between. I don't like leaving after seven because it takes a while to get to school. About thirteen minutes depending if we miss the green light. So what Mr. Ing said about being late and how you're gonna just exist, really made me get up early everyday. And started getting ready quickly. I tried doing that everyday before, but I got too lazy to get out of bed to get ready, that's why I was late before. And cause I had to wait for my brother to get ready. So now I always get my mom up early so she can bring me to school first thing in the morning then my brother can go to school later. My brother gets up at about 7:15, so I have to wait. But now I get up before him, and leave before him. So I'm not late. Lesson learned, don't be late.
