3rd Week of School

Hey guys ! This week was really really fun for me . First off , we did morning music . Which involved us in getting to school early and on time . When we played a song that Khrizz liked , she would come into A102 and start dancing . That was really funny . Tuesday was nothing special , just a regular day . On Wednesday we had yearbook picture taking , committee meeting , leadership reunion , and open house . It was a really busy day for me . I was at Ilima for about 13 hours ! 7 am - 8 pm . For period 4 we went down to the cafeteria to work the yearbook picture taking . We would get classes in the alphabetical order if they weren't already , and we would bring them to the line to take their photos . After school , I had a AR committee meeting . It was about two hours . They were saying things that I couldn't even understand , so I would have to ask what they were saying meant or what it was for . It was basically about AR . That's what it's called ... After that meeting , it was the leadership reunion . Most of the former leadership students were there . They shared their ticket , and the seniors shared their moments from leadership back then . Their stories were funny . I met another Cheana . Her name is Shayna . Same pronunciation , different spelling . After the reunion we had an open house . At the open house , our parents were able to get to know our teachers . So they're more familiar with them , and how they are teaching us . My parents thought that Cornell notes were interesting . That ended at 8:30 . Thursday was a normal day . But after school Petriese and I waited for Alesia to finish cross country . So we made paper airplanes and flew it . LOL . We went to seven eleven to get food . We had a hard time opening a101 doors . We tried each key , but none worked . So we went back 5 minutes after and tried again . This time it worked -,-

My highlight of my week was the leadership reunion . At the leadership reunion we didn't know most people cause they were in HighSchool . But their stories were really funny and cool . Their stories were really interesting too ! We had subway sandwiches and drinks . That day the former leadership students shared memories from when they were in leadership or from when they were students at Ilima . We took pictures after . Surprisingly there was only one junior who got invited . I think she's a junior . I can't really tell what the order of the grades are . Freshman , sophomore , junior , senior ? Anyways after the reunion was over , some stayed for the open house after .

I learned that my generation wasn't the only ones that made mistakes . Most of the mistakes are careless mistakes There were other generations that made some of the same mistakes . Everyone makes mistakes . If you make a mistake , it's okay . Learn from it , move on , and don't repeat it . If you do repeat that mistake , it's a habit for you . It's not mistakes anymore . It's just a terrible habit . Move on . Don't let the past affect you now . Pretend it never happened . No one is so perfect that they won't make any mistakes . The former students shared a little of their mistakes in their stories . Some people just didn't notice it . So it's okay to make mistakes , as long as you don't repeat it .

My second week of school

The days in intermediate are getting easier for me now . Rotating periods are much easier . This week was also the same as the week before . We did lunch music . But one day we forgot to pickup the iPod . We need to learn to pic up the iPod earlier though . On Wednesday we had class elections . I was running for secretary against Alesia . I was really nervous cause we didn't know who people voted for . But that day I hoped that Alesia would still be my friend if I won or if she won . The next day , they announced who won . "Petriese Peralta for president , Jahlyssa De Francia for Vice President , CHEANA ALFECHE FOR SECRETARY , and Jezerae Balinbin for treasurer . I was so relieved when I won secretary . I sorta felt bad for Alesia because she's my bestfriend . But anyways I was glad I won . The week was four days . It was a holiday on Friday that's why .

My highlight of the week was winning secretary . I was really relieved . My friends wanted to see who would win , because they said me an Alesia had an equal chance of winning . Most people think it was about popularity . But it isn't about that . The suspense on the days before were really getting on my nerves . I just wanted to know who won right away . I never expected to win .

I learned that if you compete against your bestfriend , just remember you will always remain as bestfriends no matter what . Just because you lose to your bestfriend it doesn't mean that you can just turn on them and say things that arnet true just so you can get revenge . It's not like that . If you lose , just forget about it . Don't make a big deal over it . Move on . That was my week .

When I'm with my friends I speak in a normal volume . I don't scream , or shout  . I may whisper sometimes so we could tell one other a secret . But I don't always whisper . When I share infront of a class , I try to project my voice loud enough just so that everyone can hear . If I share to a big audience without a microphone , I will have to shout . Just so they can hear . My voice changes when either the room gets bigger , or if the amount of the audience increases .

Five Important Lessons

1. Cleaning Lady .
Why is Mr.Ing reading this to us ? Mr.Ing is reading this to us because he's trying to say that we should get to know every person that we work with . We should get to know them even though we may dislike them , they are a lower level than you are . Everyone is equal . You should get to know each and everyone of your peers . You never know when they might play an important part in your life .
What does this have to do with leadership ?
In leadership , we work with everyone in the program . So we should get to know all of our friends . If we can't cooperate with our peers , we won't be able to get the job done . If the job isn't done , we wouldn't have any progress . One person can't do the job alone . If they do a job alone , they could mess up because there won't be anyone to realize your mistake .
Lesson Learned
I learned that with everyone you meet throughout your life , you should remember them , never forget . Everyone who was in your life played an important role that you never knew about . So never forget the ones you meet .

2. Pick Up in the Rain
Why is Mr.Ing reading this to us ?
He is reading this to us because he's trying to say to help people even when you least expect it . You could be remembered , or rewarded for your kindness . You don't need to worry about what the situation is , just think about helping people . If you decide not to help someone , you never know if it was for something important .
What does this have to do with leadership ?
In leadership we help different kinds of people . We try to help them all at once so their needs are fulfilled . No matter what the situation is , we still help them . Leadership is about helping others out , and setting great examples . If others see that we are helping people they might as well choose to help others too . That's a good thing , because everyone will change .
Lesson Learned
I learned to help everyone who needs it . Still help people throughout your life , you might need help too . How would you feel if no one decided to help you ? So help people when you get the chance to .

3. Always remember those who serve .
Why is Mr.Ing reading this to us ?
He is reading this to us because he is trying to tell us that giving to others is better than recieving . Like the little boy , he would've gotten the 50 cent sundae , but he wouldn't have enough to leave a tip . So he decided to get the 35 cent ice cream . He gave the lady at least 15 cents tip . That's was about the price of 3 dollars now .
What does this have to do with leadership ?
In leadership there will be times where someone will give you something , and you will feel like giving something to them in return . You don't want to be given something and not returning the favor . What if you gave someone something ? And they never gave you something in return ? It would be really unkind of that person .
Lesson Learned
I learned that it's better to give than receive . If you give more than you recieve , it shows that you're really kind .
Being kind shows that you really care for others . Like the little boy , he wanted to be kind and leave a tip . Not like other people where they just pay the bill and leave . The little boy took the time to leave a tip for the waitress .

4. The Obstacle in our Path
Why is Mr.Ing reading this to us ?
Mr.Ing is reading this to us because he is trying to say that we should do good deeds . It may seem rough , but it will benefit everyone around you . It will make it easier .
What does this have to do with leadership ?
If you do something that seems tough to others , you are showing a good example  . They will learn to not ignore the obstacles , but try to pass that obstacle . That's being a leader , that is what leadership is also about .
Lesson Learned
Doing good deeds will help you earn a reward . But don't just do good things to get a reward , do it to save things and people around you . The man who moved the boulder made it easier for others to continue on the path . He got rewarded for doing that good deed .

5. Giving When it Counts
Why is Mr.Ing reading this to us ?
Mr.Ing is reading this to us because he is trying to say that we should sacrifice for others . Like the little boy sacrificed his life just so his sister would live . If he didn't give his blood , his sister would've died . She would've died because no one helped her . But at least the little boy died helping someone . I'd rather die saving a life then die because I wasn't helped .
What does this have to do with leadership ?
This has to do with leadership because we have to sacrifice alot , but not our lives . We have to sacrifice class time to help people . We get to class a few minutes late because we've been helping people . But it's okay , because we were helping people for a good reason .
Lesson Learned
I learned that sacrificing is a way to help people . If your sacrifice your shoes just so that your friend isn't the only one shoeless that is helping your friend feel comfortable . It may seem weird but atleast your friend knows they arnt the only one without shoes .

These are the five life lessons that Mr.Ing taught us .

First week of school at Ilima

This week was a really great week . I met new friends . And reunited with some of my old friends . On Monday we started school for the 7th graders . I tried to make as much friends as possible . On Tuesday it was school for the 8th graders . On Wednesday , everyone went to school together . It was a little scary because I didn't know most of them . But I made friends with some of them . Most of them are really nice and funny ! I'm glad I'm in intermediate . I got lost on my way to some classes . One time I ended up in B building ! That's all the eighth graders . I freaked out a little . But I found my way to class . I like rotating classes . I was used to staying in one class , but now I'm doing something new (: My favorite teachers are Mr.Ing , Mrs.Fujimoto , and Mr.Nishimura . They're really nice . Period four worked on music . 4B did morning and recess music , 4A did lunch music . On Friday we had a meeting for 7th grade council . I'm running for secretary . I hope I win .

The highlight of my week was making new friends . I probably made 10+ friends . Most of them said they're voting me for Secretary . I hope to make even more friends next week ! I'm in team 7-3 . Most of the people in my team are really friendly . I met alot of people . I tried making friends with most of them . In the morning and at recess I try introducing myself to other people . I'm doing pretty well on that . I want to have alot of friends in intermediate . Not just the people I already knew .

I learned that meeting new people is really great . It helps you have more friends , so you're not lonely in the future . I just don't want to have only one friend . I need friends that will stick by my side for a long time . Not friends that will leave in the middle of my journey . Friends that will always trust me . And friends that I can trust . Different types of friends lead you to different types of paths for the future . I hope the friends that I make and meet won't bring me into trouble . I have that one friend who is always by my side .

Last Week of Summer Leadership

Hey guys . This week was really fun for me . In leadership we finished up the rest of the payments . On Monday there was a storm . So it prevented some people from coming .That made things a little hard . But I showed up anyways . On Tuesday we went on a joyride fail (x LOL . We tried looping around ewa . But we went through kapolei -,- and we almost went to Waipahu . Never looping again . On Friday we went to the beach . We bonded and relaxed . I got sunburnt . Not sun kissed . We swam alot . I got buried in the sand . The thing that sucked was sand kept going in my eyes and face .  I love leadership field trips . we always bond and bonding gets me closer to other people . And some of us got interviewed by someone from the news . I can't wait till the next field trip . I love bonding with others . When I bond with people , no one gets left behind .

My highlight of the week was spending time with everyone in leadership . I used goggles and I went underwater all the way to the floor and I grabbed everyone's ankles . Some of them got scared . Maliah and I kept finding rocks that looked just like our fingers . It was creepy . Khrizz , Korey , Laila , and I made a sand village . I made a sandman and two cabins . It eventually got destroyed . I almost got attacked by pigeons . I wanted to go to the wall but everyone went . So I couldn't go . But I had fun playing in the sand . Alesia almost got hit by a guy on a skateboard doing tricks lol .

I learned that you're closer to others than you think . I thought I couldn't trust some people because I didn't know them well . But I learned to trust them . I wouldn't have let them hold up towels while I changed (x . You know who you are .
I gained my trust for them when we bonded at the beach . We didn't notice that we didn't have our phones for about 3 or 4 hours .
